***Helpful Hints for First Time competitors***

Registering:   If you have registered with your instructor, you do not need to stop at the competitor registration table.  Proceed to the Advanced Registration table and find your card in your school's file.

If you need to register, pick up a card at the tournament registration table  and fill it out before you stand in line.  You can also download one on line. Go to the Look icon above, click on Registration forms and proceed to print.  Once at the tournament site, we will take cash or checks, made out to ATA.  Checks need to have your phone number and instructor's name on them.  Please have everything ready when you get to the front of the line.

Registration Card:   Once you have your card, make sure it is filled out front, (both left and right side) and back.  If you are a minor, your parents must sign it on the back.  Make sure you ATA Number is clearly printed on your card.  You will need your card in order to compete, so please do not lose it.

What is next?   You can find an empty ring and practice until everyone lines up to bow in.  They will call you by rank to line up just like in class.  There will be an official bow-in complete with Oath.  Then, opening ceremonies.  Spectators must be in seats during the competition.  Parents may videotape and take photos.

Scheduling:     Black belts go immediately to your assigned ring.  Do not wait to be called.  Colored belt divisions are announced on the loud speaker.  So,  please pay attention.   We will go in the order of the schedule in this book.  Times are approximate.  Color belts will be asked to meet at a designated place where they will be divided by age and ranks and then assigned a ring.  We do not know what ring color belts will be in until the divisions are  made.  Please take your gear bag with you when you are called.

Camo belts and above:    You will need your sparring gear, consisting of head gear, hand gear, foot gear and chest protector, a mouth piece and a cup (if male).  You will not be allowed to spar if you are missing any piece, so please check now.  If you have forgotten something, we do have a pro-shop to allow you to make purchase on site.

Spectators:    You are encouraged to cheer, but are not allowed to coach.  We also ask that they remain seated in the designated seating areas.  They are not allowed to be in the competition area.  This is for everyone's safety.

"Set big goals.  Aim high and you will do great things."  Grandmaster H. U. Lee
